Our School Story - Richman Elementary School
Mission
At Richman Elementary School, we are committed to ensuring high levels of learning for every student. We cultivate a safe, inclusive, and academically rigorous environment where students are empowered to think critically, act responsibly, and demonstrate their personal best. Through collaboration, kindness, and integrity, we prepare all students for success in school and in life.
Vision
Richman Elementary School envisions a learning community where every decision is grounded in what is best for students. As part of the Fullerton School District, we are committed to equity, excellence, and continuous improvement aligned to our SPSA goals.
We recognize each child as a valued and capable learner. Through strong partnerships among students, families, and staff, we foster academic achievement, social-emotional growth, and leadership development. Our students are prepared to become thoughtful problem-solvers, effective communicators, and compassionate citizens who positively impact their community and the world.
At Richman, learning experiences are intentionally designed to promote critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication. We personalize instruction, provide meaningful intervention and enrichment opportunities, and ensure that every student has access to engaging and relevant learning.
Curriculum and Instruction
All students participate in a rigorous, standards-based curriculum aligned to the California State Standards and district priorities. Instruction is data-informed and responsive, grounded in the goals outlined in our Single Plan for Student Achievement (SPSA).
Teachers utilize research-based instructional strategies, differentiated supports, and targeted interventions to meet the diverse academic and linguistic needs of our students. Through collaboration in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), staff regularly analyze student data to refine instruction and ensure continuous growth for all learners, including English Learners, students with disabilities, and students requiring additional academic support.
School Climate
Richman Elementary provides a safe, structured, and welcoming environment that protects instructional time and prioritizes student well-being. Under the framework of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS), we explicitly teach, model, and reinforce positive behavior expectations.
We believe that strong relationships are foundational to academic success. Our school promotes respect, responsibility, and readiness to learn. Diversity is valued, inclusion is prioritized, and bullying is not tolerated. Students are encouraged to develop empathy, leadership skills, and a commitment to service within both the school and broader community.
Staff
The Richman staff is united by a shared commitment to student achievement and growth. We believe every child can succeed, and every adult is responsible for supporting that success. Staff members engage in ongoing professional learning aligned to district goals and SPSA priorities to continuously strengthen instructional practices and student outcomes.
Community Involvement
Richman Elementary thrives through strong partnerships with families and the community. We actively engage parents as partners in student learning and school decision-making.
Our PTA, School Site Council (SSC), and English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC), provide meaningful opportunities for parent voice and leadership. Together, we work to ensure transparency, collaboration, and shared responsibility in advancing student achievement.
At Richman Elementary School, we are building a community where every child is known, supported, challenged, and inspired to succeed.
